AERCO has expanded its industry-first, award-winning CFR condensing boiler line with a new 2000 MBH model, delivering greater flexibility for retrofit applications.
Recognized with the 2025 AHR Innovation Award in the Heating category, the CFR boiler is the world’s first stainless steel condensing boiler approved for Category I venting. Powered by patented StackGuard™ technology, CFR maintains dry flue gas while operating at high efficiency, allowing buildings to reuse existing Category I / Type B venting and avoid costly vent upgrades.
With 1500, 2000, and 3000 MBH models now available, engineers have more options to precisely match building loads - especially in older facilities with legacy venting systems.
Each unit features a durable 439 stainless steel fire-tube heat exchanger, up to 87.1% thermal efficiency, and a 4:1 turndown ratio (dependent on capacity). Designed for retrofit ease, CFR requires no secondary pumps, fits through a standard 36" doorway, allows zero side clearance, and is serviceable from the front, side, or top.
All models include AERCO’s Edge® Controller for advanced system optimization and seamless BAS integration, along with built-in BACnet and Modbus communication. Boiler Sequencing Technology (BST) enables up to 16 units to operate in harmony for efficiency and redundancy. The expanded CFR lineup offers a practical, high-efficiency solution for schools, hospitals, multifamily buildings, and other facilities seeking performance gains without mechanical room reconstruction.
